24 Approach:
From a brief originated by the gallery staff, 24 designed and manufactured high quality permanent furniture for the entrance and galleries of the Whitworth. As well as providing a point of contact where visitors could talk to staff and receive a “discovery bag”, the furniture offered opportunities for handling work and leaving written feedback. An ongoing project tackled in stages, the furniture was designed in sympathy with the interior of the building. The resulting pieces are technically sophisticated yet simple and accessible to use and have been well received by staff and public alike.
